Lubov working on a mix-media artwork
About Me
I was born in Kyiv in a family of artists, and growing up in a creative environment has left a mark on my personal development.
It was a natural choice for me to study art, so I graduated from the Kyiv Art and Industrial College with a degree in Graphic Design and after with a Master’s in Art Criticism from Kyiv State Art Institute.
After my studies, I have focused on creative activities with the desire to experiment with techniques to reach my personal expression.
In the first years of my art career, I have created works in traditional techniques such as watercolor, acrylic, and oil. Then in the last six years, I have been working in a unique mixed-media with includes acrylic and collage created from magazine cut-outs and hand-painted paper.
I love the great possibilities of working with mixed media where I can create unusual textures, color combinations, and text elements taken from magazines.
I enjoy working on various subjects:
1) portraits of dogs and cats
2) flower arrangements
3) landscapes and cityscapes
4) surreal fantasy stories
5) variations on paintings of famous masters
My artworks have been sold through private art galleries and exhibited on several occasions in Ukraine.
